Modeling Mass and Volume

Set up the activity, give clear directions on what the students are to do, what they are to analyze, and what questions they are to answer.
Below are the directions for the students.

Collect 5 data points for (mass , cylinder volume).

Determine the type of variation between mass and volume.

Predict the cylinder volume if 10 kg are placed on top.
Another approach could be to have different groups work on a different apparatus and then have each group report their findings when the class has completed the activity.
