- This activity is used to present new material rather than lecturing.
- It is best used when the topic contains 3 to 4 different skills to be learned.
- Each team member learns a new and different skill, then teaches it to their team, then the team solves applications that applies each skill learned.
To develop a jigsaw activity, the student handouts are very important. You need to develop the skill sheets for each expert and the final group application that requires all the skills. Jigsaw Handouts I through IV contain the handouts used in the jigsaw you viewed above.
