What Is Cooperative Learning?


Using small group activities and extended group projects to help students learn mathematics and group skills.


Cooperative learning activities help students retain information and prepares them for the workplace. To help you effectively incorporate cooperative learning into your teaching, this project includes the following:

Components of Cooperative Learning


• Individual Accountability

Assessing the quality and quantity of each member’s contribution to the group.

• Positive Interdependence

To successfully complete the group’s task, the team is dependent on each member.

• Group Processing Skills

Members communicating on what they are doing well as a group and what they can improve on to help the group.
